Product Suggestions

Welcome to the Monitis Product Suggestions Forum.

Help us improve Monitis by voicing your opinion and sharing your ideas with us. You can also vote for ideas posted by others. The number of votes will be one of the factors we consider in our product development planning. Please note, that you have a limited number of votes.

Please send any support related questions to support@monitis.com instead of posting them here.

I suggest you…

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

  1. RUM: Make RUM shareable as module

The RUM graphs in the tabs obviously can't be shared as single module. The only possibility I found is to share the whole page/tab with the graph.

  2. RUM: Custom percentiles for time graphs

The graphs with Real User Monitoring data offer the choice between average, median (50-percentile) and maximum (100-percentile).

Our performance goals are described as "xx% of the requests must be answered in less than xx seconds". So we can't monitor our performance goals directly, as the percentage is neither 50% nor 100%, but 95% oder 99%. I suppose this is what most clients interests more than median or the maximum.

My suggestion: Either offer a standard percentile which is high (>90%), but not 100% or offer the possibility for a custom percentile for the monitor.

  3. If a transaction monitor fails then re-execute that test immediately after 1 minute

If a transaction monitor fails then re-execute that test immediately after 1 minute to check failure consistency and then send alerts. So in this case no need to wait for 15 mins for next execution to happen.

  4. Allow selecting different Synthetic Transaction Scripts on Monitor after setup.

Allow selecting different Synthetic Transaction Scripts on Monitor after it has been setup.

  5. More Transaction Monitoring Methods

More methods on transaction monitoring. Looking for a class is great but the ability to see XHR request response codes (e.g. if a login xhr returns server error 500 or so).

    Thanks!

  6. Daily view over a set period of time/Custom time range on Transaction monitors

Allow a daily view over a set period of time since the custom reports show you consolidated average results only.

  7. Choose User Agent on Full Page Load tests

Allow the user to choose a User Agent on the Full Page Load tests so that you can specify a mobile version of the site rather than desktop.

  8. Support private agent on full page load monitor

Have the capacity to monitor web site from internal network to provide the performance of our internal web application or to monitor cloud application within our networks.

  9. Provide waterfall information into the Synthetic Transaction monitor

Support waterfall detail in the transaction monitor to permit us to understand the performance variation.

  10. HTTP header on full page loadtime monitor

Please add feature to specify HTTP header on full page loadtime monitor, since we want to speak to a specific server behind a loadbalancer.

  11. Include or exclude domains/third party content in RUM monitor

Is it possible to exclude certain domains (or only INCLUDE certain ones) during RUM monitoring?
We would like to be able to monitor our page performance while excluding timings affected by ad calls.

  12. Capture screenshots of successful full page download at an interval.

Capturing screenshots for failures is great and provides invaluable information. We operate a very dynamic site with multiple publishers updating the content. For our purpose, a capture of a successful request is also valuable.
The capture does not need to occur on every test. Perhaps a reasonable sampling might be every hour or even after a certain number of test.
We had an issue recently where knowing what the site looked like at a point in time would have help the investigation.

  13. Real-Time RUM display

Competitors (Pingdom) offer a real-time view of RUM data. You can see pages as they are being hit as well as the other pertinent RUM data - this is a very useful view.

  14. Enhance RUM with more details

enhance the RUM feature with the following:

-> show a drill down view for a transaction to see the average timings for single elements
-> have an export option for the data to post-process in XLS

    Thanks
