Product Suggestions

Welcome to the Monitis Product Suggestions Forum.

Help us improve Monitis by voicing your opinion and sharing your ideas with us. You can also vote for ideas posted by others. The number of votes will be one of the factors we consider in our product development planning. Please note, that you have a limited number of votes.

Please send any support related questions to support@monitis.com instead of posting them here.

I suggest you…

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

  1. Offline agent status reflected on its associated monitors' status

When an agent goes offline, it isn't reflected on the groups status view - if you look at the groups containing monitors from the offline agent, they are all green.
I understand why this happens - all the monitors are suspended, not on Warning or Critical, so the status of the group is not being affected.
This is a problem for us though, because when a server goes down there is no way to tell from the global status view, which is what we use as a display console... we only get an email alert. All monitors and their associated…

An agent that can provide several metrics for a SQL server database.
For instance processor, memory, storage, but also query avg. time etc...

  5. SNMP Monitor 24 hour, 3 Day and other time views

The SNMP monitors do not have a "time button" allowing you to view the last 24 hours, 3 days, 7 days, 'today', etc.

Is that a BUG or an enhancement ? All the other monitor types have it.

  7. Add support for Hyper-v CSV(ClusteredStorageVolume) DiskIO

Currently the diskIO only include disks with drive letters. CSV volumes are mounted to a folder and therefor do not have drive letter assigned and do not show up in the disks to collect stats from. This is very important to properly monitor a HA hyper-v system.

  8. RPM / DEB packages for the Linux monitoring agent

The Monitoring Agent needs to be installed by hand. This can be very time consuming.

A rpm package or a deb package for debian would be great. maybe directly in a third party repository where it can be easyly updated. That would make the update much much easier.

  10. Auto discovery

Auto discovery allows an end-user to get topology of his infrastructure by installing and running special "network discovery" components. The output is a map of hosts, network devices and applications. Entities on this map are connected by different types of relations: applications reside on hosts, hosts connected by network devices, etc. The map is than used for event correlation and quick internal monitoring setup (bulk agent deployment).

  12. 1 hour view.

We'd like to have 1 hour view also for internal server/device monitors.

  17. Cluster Monitoring & BigData Applications

Cluster Monitoring and Advanced Applications Monitors
    - Kafka (cluster health, counters, offsets, lag...)
    - Elasticsearch
    - Zookeeper
    - Cassandra
    - Redis
    - Docker
    ...

    Features:
    - Plot multiple monitors on same graph
    - Custom #columns layout per row (2, 4, 3, 2, 2)
    - Alert Levels (Warning to be able to act before Critical)
    - Rotate display beetwen some selected tabs to display on a big wall screen ;)

But first: Better or cutom/manual way to select processes to monitor !
    - Unable to pick some process that start with "app-group1", "app-group2", only see "app" (that sum cpu/ram of all…

  18. E-Mail round trip to respect the MX priority

The current E-Mail round trip monitor does not respect the MX priority. I think the option "Take the first entry" in the monitor should respect the MX priority.

  20. Add the ability to monitor rotating log files

Please add the ability to monitor rotating log files. For example webserver20151225.log

In some applications you can't change the logging format.
